In recognition of the importance of the role played by medium and small establishments in economic and social development the Ministry, in cooperation with the World Bank, conducted a study on medium and small projects in the Sultanate. important prerequsite for the study under reference. The survey aims at identifying the main obstacles and their magnitude which face these establishments in their day to day operation, including administrative costs, delays, obtaining financing, human resources and their management, information, technologies, improving business services, infrastructure and public services.

 

The survey also aims at comparing the investment procedures followed by the Sultanate with those followed by other countries in the different fields. Moreover, the survey aims at identifying the priority of obstacles to be reduced and magnitude of discrepancy in obstacles facing the establishments in the different sectors and sizes so as to concentrate on areas of detects and treat them. It also has the objective of evaluating the productivity of Omani establishments in the main sectors in addition to usage of survey as a tool for policies to layout the objectives, priorities and evaluating the progress achieved in the business environment.
