Co-ordinate and assist different sections / units within the ministry to develop different means of quantitative and qualitative data collection for analytical purposes.

Co-ordinate with different units in the ministry to standardize coding, definitions that are used in data gathering and analysis in conformity with the international standards.

Providing views as consultant on the targeted data collections with respect to database design & normalization keeping in mind the future requirements of system design and application development.

Taking necessary steps towards producing and dissemination of statistical publications at proper time with the co-ordination of other entities in the ministry and the other ministries. The publication are as follows :
     - Statistical Year Book.
     - Monthly Bulletin.
     - Facts & Figures.
     - Other periodical publication as required.
     - Other non-periodical publications related to different statistical surveys.

Provide published data to different entities, companies, international and national bodies and others through different technological means and media.

Design and develop database and application systems for survey activities using the latest technologies as per the requirements of other entities in the ministry as well as enhancing existing systems and databases.

Enhance & upgrade the hardware, software and related infrastructure, peripherals that are used in the ministry by different employees as well as providing quality technical support at different levels.

Design & develop GIS databases & applications to utilize space maps and satellite images and different type of data that are gathered from different national surveys and census to make quantitative & qualitative data available for different geographical layers for planners, decision makers & providing digital maps to field survey operations.
