The Establishment of the Statistics Advisory Committee » Report on development objections and goals of the millennium: achievements and challenges

This report is considered one of the main outputs of the development of the sustainable development project, due to the fact that it depends on the values of available indicators to monitor the progress achieved by the Sultanate towards the attainment of the development objectives and goals of the millennium and highlight its position in the sustainable development ladder.

The Advisory Committee approved the report which was sent to the UN secretary General on 8th February 2005. The report was also sent to all government ministries and units for the benefit of all these entities. The benefit to be derived from the report is reflected in the highlighting the progress

achieved and underpins the challenges that should be faced, in addition to integrating the millennium development goals within the national development plans. The preparation of this report should be periodic, every five year to coincide with the five year development plans, thus assisting in the formulation and follow up in a better way.
